Thoroughbreds

Gooree’s red & black stripes have been synonymous with horse racing in Australia for decades. With numerous Group 1 Winners, the famous Gooree red & black has graced racetracks across the country for more than 40 years.

We are particularly proud of our long-standing partnerships with prominent racing trainers such as Gai Waterhouse, Anthony Cummings and John O’Shea spanning the decades. It is testament to the caliber of thoroughbreds we breed and nurture that these partnerships continue to flourish. We are also proud of our long-term affliliations with some of the nations’ most respected thoroughbred stud’s including the historic Widden Stud at Denman NSW.

Some of Gooree’s most renowned stable of stallions over the years has included:

  • Snowland
  • Dreamscape
  • Swift Alliance
  • Don Eduardo
  • Smart Missile
  • Northern Meteor
  • Your Song

The ill-fated Northern Meteor most recently made headlines as the leading ‘First Season Sire in Australia’ (2013) based on earnings before sadly succumbing to a fatal bout of colic. Another prominent Group 1 champion Your Song was last year retired and will be standing at the historic Widden Stud to hopefully serve a long career as the sire of the next generation of Gooree champions. Don Eduardo has recently returned home from a successful stint at Haunui Farm in New Zealand and is now standing at stud here at Gooree.

In tribute to our former thoroughbred champions, the wines within our premium range are always named after a notable Gooree champion such as our ‘Desert War’ Shiraz, 'Don Eduardo' Cabernet Sauvignon and ‘Crowned Glory’ Chardonnay and Shiraz.

Our passion for excellence in our flagship Stud enterprise continues to set the tone for the entire Gooree Park organisation.
